A village panchayat in Haryana’s Bhiwani has issued a strange order. The Gram Panchayat of Gujran has banned youths from walking openly in the village wearing shorts and shorts. The Gram Panchayat has issued an order saying that if any youth of the village is seen walking in the village wearing shorts or capris, action will be taken against him.

The Sarpanch of Bhiwani Gram Panchayat who gave this order is a woman. Female sarpanch Renu’s representative father-in-law Suresh looks after all the work there. Informing about this, Suresh Kumar said that it was often seen that the youth of the village used to walk openly in the village wearing briefs or capris, due to which the sisters and daughters of the village had to feel ashamed. He said that after the order is issued, if someone in the village does not comply with the panchayat’s order, they will first go to his house and talk to his family members and warn him. However, if a person is not ready to accept the order, the Panchayat will pass its judgment on him.

The Sarpanch’s order in this regard has been announced to the watchman in the village. The announcement said that action will be taken against any youth who walks around in shorts or capris. After the order, the youth of Gujrani village have stopped walking around wearing briefs and capris. Sarpanch representative Suresh Kumar said that the youth of the village should stay in the house as per their wish. But when they go to other people’s house or area, they should go with respect.

If one goes to a public place in such condition, it is inappropriate and women have to feel ashamed. In such a situation, the panchayat has given this order. After the order, they have started getting calls from other panchayats too and they are also asking to implement this order in their place.

Sarpanch’s representative said that wearing shorts above the knee has also been banned in the village. Young people must wear shorts that come below the knee if they want to wear them in public. This order of the Gujrani village panchayat is being discussed not only in the entire village but also in the surrounding villages. He said that walking around wearing briefs or capris is against our civilization and culture.

The population of Gujrani village is around 7 thousand and there are about 1250 houses in this village. Bank and schools are located in the village. In this regard, the in-charge of Sadar Police Station said that this matter is not in his understanding. The police have nothing to do with such village decisions. What can the police do if the entire village agrees with the decision?
