IMDb has released a list of the top 250 highest rated Indian films of all time. Along with this a poster has also been released, in this poster a glimpse of all the films can be seen. All types of movies have been selected in this list. The special thing is that you will definitely be shocked to hear the name of the film on top of this list. Because this is not a Khan or Kapoor film. The name of the movie is ’12th Fail’ which was released in the year 2023.
The film, which released last year, received a good response from the audience. Vikrant Massey, the actor of the film, won everyone’s hearts with his performance. The film was directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. From film critics to people of all walks of life, the film was well liked.

Along with this, the list also includes hits like Maharaja, Kantara and Lapata Ladies, which have been sent to the Oscars by India. Overall, the 250 films on the list have received over 85 million votes on IMDb.
Satyajit Ray’s Classic ‘Pather Panchali’
Of all the films on the list, five films of 2024 made it to the Top 250 club, including Maharaja, Ajay Devgn’s Maidan, The Goat Life, Lapta Ladies and Manjummal Boys. The oldest film in this list is Satyajit Ray’s classic ‘Pather Panchali’, which was released in 1955. Aamir Khan’s three films 3 Idiots, Taare Zameen Par and Dangal are in the top 20 list.

Mani Ratnam has the most films in this list
With seven films in the list of 250 films, director Mani Ratnam is the director with the most films. He is followed by director Anurag Kashyap with six films. Notably, the list includes six films and their sequels, including Drishtim (Malayalam) and Drishtim 2 (Malayalam), Drishtim (Hindi) and Drishtim 2 (Hindi), Munnabhai M.B. And there are movies like Lage Raho Munna Bhai, Jigarthanda and Jigarthanda DoubleX, KGF: Chapter 1 and KGF: Chapter 2 and Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion.
The list was launched to celebrate reaching 250,000 followers on IMDb’s Instagram handle. Which was launched two years ago. To celebrate this, IMDb has also designed posters of the top 250 highest rated Indian films of all time.
