Meanwhile, he revealed that Deepak Chahar did not listen to Dhoni in the IPL match, due to which he had to listen to a lot of abuse. Dhoni put his hand on his shoulder and said, ‘You are not stupid, I am stupid’. Deepak himself revealed this after the match.
Interesting story of Dhoni and Chahar
Mohit said on the 2Sloggers podcast that Deepak Chahar has been scolded the most by Dhoni. Recalling the match played in Chennai in the 2019 season, he said that Deepak bowled a knuckle ball, which landed on the boundary. After this, Dhoni refused to throw the ball. Because it was very hot in Chennai at that time and it was difficult to control the ball. But Deepak did not listen to him and dropped the same ball after two or three balls. Seeing this, Dhoni got very angry and came running to Deepak. Placing a hand on his shoulder he said – ‘You are not stupid, I am stupid.’ Deepak himself revealed this after the match.
Dhoni is known as ‘Captain Cool’ for his calm demeanor during the game. It is famous among fans that Dhoni does not get angry during matches. But if Mohit Sharma is to be believed, he gets very angry. Mohit has also been scolded many times. The good thing about him though is that he leaves his stuff on the field. Chahar earned crores because of Dhoni
Deepak Chahar has been playing with Mahendra Singh Dhoni for a long time. Both players played together for Rising Pune Supergiants in 2016 and 2017 seasons. With the return of CSK in 2018, Dhoni gave him a chance in his team. Chahar has been with him ever since. It was under his captaincy that he was able to show his swing bowling skills in the opening overs.
