All government departments of Uttar Pradesh Government are being constructed by Uttar Pradesh State Construction Corporation along with many other construction agencies. Construction of one such new stadium near police lines in Gazipur was started in 2018 by the Uttar Pradesh government’s construction corporation Bhadohi. For which, as per the MOU between the Uttar Pradesh government and the executing agency, the organization had to complete the construction of the new stadium and hand it over to the department by 30 November 2023.
Construction not completed as per prescribed standards
With the connivance of the construction agency and contractors as well as some departmental officials, the administering agency wrote a letter to the department for handover showing that the new stadium was not yet completed on the Chief Minister’s portal. When investigated, it was found that the boundary wall as well as some other works were done by that organization, but the standard in the new stadium was still there. Not all of that work is done.
