A strange case has come to light in Purnia, Uttar Pradesh. Here a woman left the house after 20 days of her marriage and reached the SP. The woman applied to the SP and alleged harassment against her in-laws. In the petition, he has described a slipper as the cause of the quarrel. Purnia SP referred the matter to the Family Counseling Centre, where it was resolved. This entire case is from Sousa Colony in Maranga Police Station area.

The girl was married to a young man from Pacharia basti of Raniganj police station area of Araria district. The woman said that she had only been married for 20 days when her slippers broke. When she asked her husband for new slippers, she did not receive her new slippers. The husband said, I don’t like you, go and ask your father for slippers. While the husband says that she was asking for sandals.

After 20 days of marriage, the husband went to Punjab

The woman said that after 10 to 15 days of marriage, her husband left her and went to work in Punjab. Here she asked her mother-in-law for new slippers and asked her to call her husband. I called my husband but he did not pick up the phone. When he pressured his mother-in-law again, she called her son and asked him to send the money for the slippers. On behalf of the son, the mother was told that she had bought the slippers for him.

The woman said that after her husband went to Punjab, her mother-in-law started fighting over some issue. Due to which she moved from her father-in-law to her maternal uncle’s house. The woman told the counseling center that after coming from her in-laws, her mother-in-law filled her son’s ear, after which she spoke obscenities over the phone.

When the counseling center wanted to know the husband’s side about this, the husband said that he is a poor labourer. He takes care of his mother and sister by working in Punjab. At the wedding itself, he bought new slippers for his wife, which he could not keep properly even for 20 days and broke them. He is ready to give slippers, but his demand is for expensive slippers.

Husband said that it is rainy season, even expensive slippers will break. But my wife was adamant about buying expensive slippers, so I didn’t get her slippers. His wife messes up in small matters. I married him and brought him home, so that he could serve my mother and live in harmony with my family. But she keeps fighting.

The Family Counseling Center explained both

The members of the Family Counseling Center explained to the husband and wife that fighting after only 20 days of marriage is not a good thing. The counseling center decided that it was rainy season, so the husband would buy a pair of slippers. After the rains, he would buy a good pair of sandals, which his wife would use in parties or going out. After this decision both husband and wife agreed to live together. Counseling Center members Advocate Dilip Kumar Deepak, Swati Vaishyantri, Zeenat Rehman, Ravindra Shah, Narayan Kumar Gupta and Police Inspector Baban Kumar Singh played an important role in resolving the dispute.
