Akhilesh Yadav, Awadhesh Prasad and Yogi Adityanath
After the Lok Sabha Elections-2024, there is an uproar in the country regarding the by-elections to be held on 10 seats of Uttar Pradesh. Milkipur in Ayodhya is also among the seats where elections are being held. The same Milkipur whose MLA was SP’s Awadhesh Prasad had contested the Lok Sabha elections. He lived up to the SP chief’s expectations and became an MP. After this win, Awadhesh has become Mr. Dependable for Akhilesh. Now he has been made in-charge of Milkipur for the by-election. That is, the responsibility of SP’s victory here has been assigned to Awadhesh Prasad. On one hand, it is Awadhesh Prasad’s turn to live up to Akhilesh’s expectations once again, on the other hand, there is a prestige battle for Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The battle between Awadhesh Prasad and CM Yogi has made the competition exciting in Milkipur.
This is the opportunity and the right opportunity…
This is the opportunity and the right opportunity…this line is for both Awadhesh Prasad and Yogi Adityanath. Let’s talk about CM Yogi first. CM Yogi Adityanath himself is keeping a keen eye on the elections to be held in this seat. Yogi has also visited Ayodhya. Have held meetings with BJP leaders. He has taken the responsibility of making BJP win here. By winning the Milkipur seat, the Chief Minister wants to settle the score of Faizabad defeat. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has linked this election with his reputation. He has given a message to BJP leaders to unite. They don’t want to take any risk with this election.
BJP has also changed its strategy for this election. In the Lok Sabha elections, a section of backward and Dalit voters turned to the Samajwadi Party. BJP is now trying to break Samajwadi Party’s new vote bank. Hence a new strategy has been made for the by-elections.

The party has formed a group of leaders from different castes. This group will make the electorate of that society their own. A committee of BJP leaders has been formed which will meet the officials and get work done from the people. CM Yogi, Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya, Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak, UP Party President Bhupendra Chaudhary and Organization Minister Dharampal Singh are included in this committee.
How hard is the fight for tenure?
On the other hand, the Milkipur by-election is also a big chance for Awadhesh Prasad to live up to Akhilesh’s expectations again. Awadhesh Prasad-led Samajwadi Party is on cloud nine after winning the Faizabad Lok Sabha elections. Party president Akhilesh Yadav takes Awadhesh Prasad with him from Parliament to the road. With this victory, Awadhesh’s stature in the SP increased so much that he started sitting next to Akhilesh in the Lok Sabha. Akhilesh has surrounded the BJP on the strength of Awadhesh. But all this is history now.
Now the election is new. The challenge is new. Opposite is the BJP which is fighting the by-elections by becoming strong. A wounded Singh is more dangerous, Akhilesh and SP know this very well. BJP is entering the fray with a new strategy. Keeping these challenges in mind, SP does not want to miss Milkipur by any means. Awadhesh Prasad is also trying to prove that his victory in the Faizabad parliamentary seat is not a fluke but a result of people’s anger against the BJP. Awadhesh Prasad also knows that the entire BJP system has become active in Milkipur. Many of its leaders and activists have camped there.
Awadhesh is an expert in knowing the pulse of voters.
Awadhesh Prasad is an old SP. He was named among those close to former CM Mulayam Singh Yadav. In 1977, he reached the Legislative Assembly by winning from Sohawal assembly constituency in Ayodhya district. After this he won in 1985, 1989, 1993, 1996, 2002, 2007 and 2012. Awadhesh Prasad hails from a Dalit community. He is believed to have a strong hold on the Dalit votebank. Also the equation of Yadav and Muslim voters is considered equal. It has been a long time since Awadhesh started politics in Ayodhya. He is an expert in feeling the pulse of the electorate. So BJP will leave no stone unturned to counter the move by SP by making him in charge.
What is Milkipour’s equation?
Milkipur has about 65 thousand Brahmins, 55 thousand Pasis, 22 thousand Koris, 15 thousand Harijans, 25 thousand Kshatriyas, 23 thousand Muslims, 20 thousand Chaursiyas, 17 thousand Banias and 55 thousand Bania voters. Due to reserved seats, candidates of all parties will belong to the Dalit community. Overall, the assembly by-election to the Milkipur seat has become one of the most important for the politics of the state and the country.
