Amarnath Yatra is going to start from June 29 due to which tight security arrangements are being made. Today i.e. Sunday, Home Minister Amit Shah will hold a high-level meeting in Delhi to ensure security arrangements in Jammu and Kashmir due to the Amarnath Yatra. Jammu and Kashmir LG Manoj Sinha will also attend the meeting along with several security officials.

Recently, a pilgrim bus was attacked in Reasi, Jammu, in which nine devotees were killed and a soldier was also martyred. 6 soldiers and many passengers including children were injured in the attack. After which the government is already on alert regarding all kinds of security arrangements for the Amarnath Yatra.

What will be discussed in the meeting?

Recently there were four terrorist attacks in Riasi, Kathua and Doda. After which a high level meeting was called in Delhi on Sunday. In this meeting, Amit Shah will review the security of Jammu and Kashmir. Apart from this, preparations for the Amarnath Yatra starting from June 29 and its security arrangements will also be discussed in the meeting. It is believed that the home minister may direct officials to intensify the campaign against terrorism.

Who will attend the meeting?

National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Jammu and Kashmir Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha, Army Chief General Manoj Pandey, Army Chief-designate Lt. Gen. Upendra Dwivedi, Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla, Intelligence Bureau officials will be present in this meeting to ensure security arrangements. Director Tapan Deka, CRPF Director General Anish Dayal Singh, Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police RR Swain and several security officials are expected to attend.

Why is the meeting important?

This meeting to be held on Sunday is also important because recently there have been many terrorist incidents in Jammu and Kashmir. After which the Amarnath Yatra is to begin and a meeting is being held to review the security to prevent any terrorist attack. Apart from this, preparations for Amarnath Yatra will also be reviewed in this meeting. Pilgrims use Baltal and Pahalgam two routes in Jammu and Kashmir to reach Amarnath. Last year more than 4.28 lakh people reached Amarnath, while this year the figure may reach five lakh.
