Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren has submitted his resignation from the post of Chief Minister to the Governor. At the same time, former Chief Minister Hemant Soren has re-claimed the post of Chief Minister of Jharkhand. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday slammed Champai Soren’s resignation and Hemant Soren’s claim. He described the replacement of Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren by the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and the Congress as extremely sad, although the JMM also retaliated and attacked Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Hemant Soren will replace Champai Soren as the new Chief Minister of Jharkhand. Champai took charge earlier this year after being jailed in a money laundering case related to an alleged land scam.

Joint in-charge of Jharkhand and CM of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma said that it is very sad to remove a senior tribal leader from the post of Chief Minister by JMM and Congress party in Jharkhand. JMM and Congress are both constituents of the ruling coalition in Jharkhand.

taunted Himanta Biswa Sarma

Sarma said that he was confident that the people of Jharkhand would strongly condemn the action and strongly reject it. The Chief Minister of Assam has visited the state several times after the Lok Sabha elections and held meetings with senior BJP leaders regarding the upcoming assembly elections.

He said that the leaders and legislators of the coalition government unanimously decided to elect Hemant Soren as the leader of the JMM legislative party during a meeting held at Chief Minister Champai Soren’s residence here.

JMM replied to Assam CM

On the other hand, JMM has taunted X by tweeting attacking Himanta Biswa Sarma saying Sarbanand Sonowal ji remember or forget? How even after winning the election, he and his party insulted him and removed him from the post of Chief Minister. Was it just because they were tribal?

The tweet taunts why you betrayed a tribal leader? As for Champai Soren, don’t worry about him – he’s not called a tiger for nothing. Tribal leader Hemant performed his duties very well when he was imprisoned by the dictators in a false case.

He said that and today when Hemant got justice by the High Court, he came back to fulfill the responsibility of following the orders of the people of Jharkhand and with the unanimous support of the All India Alliance MLAs.
