Heavy rain and thunderstorms expected in the region for next 5 days

According to the IMD, strong winds blowing from the Bay of Bengal and the cyclone forming over north-eastern Assam are likely to affect the weather of the north-eastern states in the next five days.

There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, hilly parts of West Bengal and Sikkim. Winds are expected to blow for five more days. At the same time, cold will persist in Delhi-NCR for the next two days.

According to the Meteorological Department, Meghalaya, heavy rains are expected in the hilly areas of West Bengal and Sikkim between June 6 and 10. Heavy rains are expected in Arunachal Pradesh between June 8 and 10. Nagaland may receive heavy rains on June 10. Light to moderate rains with thunderstorms are also expected in Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Saurashtra and Kutch, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema, Telangana and Karnataka during the next five days. Winds are expected to blow at a speed of 50 kmph.
