Heavy rain alert in West Bengal and Odisha

Chance of strong winds in Gangetic plains
The IMD has forecast heavy rain in Jhargram, Purulia, West Burdwan and Birbhum districts on September 15 in West Bengal. Wind warning of 50-60 kmph and sea conditions are likely to remain rough in the northern part of the Bay of Bengal. Which can increase up to 70 km per hour. At the same time, a warning has been issued for the wind speed to increase from 40-50 kmph to 60 kmph in the Ganga plains of West Bengal (including Kolkata) by the morning of September 15.
Heavy rain is likely in Odisha on September 15-16
The districts of North Odisha adjoining West Bengal received heavy rain on Saturday. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has predicted more rain in the coming days. The Meteorological Department has forecast heavy to very heavy rain in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar and Balasore districts till 8.30 am on Sunday.
The IMD has warned of heavy rainfall in Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Angul and Dhenkanal districts. The Meteorological Department has advised people not to stay in unsafe mud houses. Many roads closed in Himachal and Uttarakhand
A total of 42 roads have been closed due to incessant rain in many parts of Himachal Pradesh. SEOC said 53 electricity and water supply schemes have also been affected due to rains in the state. At the same time, 169 people have died in heavy rain events in the state, while 30 people are still missing. The state has suffered a loss of Rs 1,327 crore due to rains.

At the same time, four people have died due to heavy rains in the last 24 hours in several places in Uttarakhand, especially in the Kumaon region. And two others were missing. While 478 roads, including national highways, were closed for traffic due to landslides at several places. Roads between Rudraprayag-Kedarnath National Highway, Sonprayag and Gaurikund are closed. While Rishikesh-Yamunotri National Highway near Orchha Dam in Uttarkashi. Apart from this, roads on Rishikesh-Badrinath National Highway are closed in Nandprayag and Chatavapipal.
