Govinda’s wife Sunita Ahuja
Govinda, who was once considered ‘Hero No. 1’ of Bollywood, entered Bollywood in the year 1986 with the film ‘Ilzaam’. A year after starting his film career i.e. in 1987, he married Sunita Ahuja. Both have been married for 40 years. Like Govinda, whenever his wife attends any event or any TV show, she wins hearts with her cheerful style.
Recently, in a Timeout with Ankit podcast, Sunita revealed that at one point Govinda’s fan following was such that female fans used to gather outside his house. Many people loved Govinda so much that they fainted at the sight of him. Sunita was asked in the podcast if she felt insecure seeing such a craze for Govinda among female fans.
What was Govinda’s wife’s answer?
On this Sunita said, “Being a hero’s wife, you have to keep such a big stone in your heart, otherwise you won’t marry a hero.” He continued, “It doesn’t matter to me. You have to believe in yourself. Now he is a man, you cannot say that a cow is a man. should be happening. It’s okay, he runs around and comes home at night, right?

Suneet was asked if he had traveled with Govinda when he went abroad for a film shoot. Regarding this he said, “Tina (his daughter) was very young and her school had started. So, I could hardly go.” Did he ever feel proud of Govinda? To this question, he said, “I don’t have the sense to feel proud. I was only 20-21 years old. You know how life was then. No. Today’s kids understand all that, but we were too naive.”
The marriage was kept secret
When Govinda and Sunita got married, the world didn’t know about it at all. In fact, both kept their marriage a secret for two years. Apart from Tina, they also have a son named Yashvardhan Ahuja.
However, let us now know how Govinda and Sunita first met. Govinda himself told about this in an interview given to Bollywood Bubble in the year 2023. He said, “She was so young, I was afraid that people would call it harassment if they started falling in love at that age. She was 15 and I was 21. So we were very young.”
Govinda further stated that he told Sunita, “‘You are very young, I know what you are talking about.’ So he said, ‘Yes, I know everything and I want you…I love you.’ I thought this was too young, man. I was afraid that if I date her, someone will call me a child molester. At the time of marriage, Govinda was 18 years old.
