Monsoon may take a week to reach the state from Kishanganj, 650 km from Uttar Pradesh. Before this, the pre-monsoon seems to be providing a big relief.

The weather will be pleasant

According to the Meteorological Department, today i.e. June 20, the weather will be pleasant in many parts of the state. Rain and thundershowers may occur at isolated places over East and West Uttar Pradesh. The Meteorological Department has said that the weather will change in the next 24 hours in many areas including Lucknow, Gorakhpur. It has also been said that due to the influence of Western Disturbance moving towards North-West India, the impact of heat will be less in the state.

Heat broke records, Kanpur was the hottest

This year’s heat has broken many records in Uttar Pradesh. In the month of June, the temperature was recorded above 48 degrees in several districts of the state. The areas of Bundelkhand including Kanpur, Agra remained in the grip of severe heat. On Wednesday too, Kanpur recorded a temperature of 45 degrees and the city remained the hottest city in the state. Along with the heat, people were bothered by heat waves. The heat took many lives. According to the Meteorological Department, people will have to bear the brunt of the heatwave in western UP due to the 2-day long heat wave.
