Haryana: With over 1500 candidates in the fray, which seat has the most candidates?

Voting for Haryana assembly elections will be held on October 5. For this, 1562 candidates have filed their nomination papers, including candidates from various parties and independent candidates. Chief Electoral Officer of Haryana Pankaj Agarwal gave this information on Friday. Talking about the election process, he said that the last date for filing nominations was September 12. The nomination papers were scrutinized on Friday and candidates can withdraw their nominations till September 16.

Most of the candidates are trying their luck from Bhiwa seat. 31 candidates have filed their nominations from here, while the least 9 candidates have filed their nominations from the Nangla Chaudhary seat.

Status of VIP seats

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini is contesting from the Ladwa assembly seat in Kurukshetra, from where a total of 24 candidates are in the fray. Wrestler Binesh Phogat is contesting on a Congress ticket from Jula seat in Jind district, from where 16 candidates have filed their nominations.

Janayak Janata Party leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala has filed his candidature from Uchana Kalan. A total of 30 candidates are contesting the election from here. Former Chief Minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda is contesting from Garhi Sampla-Kiloi in Rohtak district, from which a total of 12 candidates are in the fray. INLD leader Abhay Chautala is contesting from Allenabad in Sirsa district, from where a total of 14 candidates have filed their nominations.

Final list after 16 September

As the last date for withdrawal of names is till September 16, the number of candidates may decrease in many seats. Therefore, it is expected that some candidates will drop out of the fray. After this the final list of candidates will be released.

The ruling BJP is trying to return to power for the third time while the opposition party Congress is contesting the elections with full strength this time to return to power. Other opposition parties Aam Aadmi Party, JJP-Azad Samaj Party and INLD-BSP are contesting the elections.
