Manohar Lal Khattar and Naib Singh Saini

Assembly elections in Haryana are now less than 4 months away. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini has started to change the old decisions of former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. Saini has changed the first decision regarding Sarpanch. Sarpanches have now been given more powers by the government in the state. During Khattar’s time the power of Sarpanch was limited.

Apart from administrative decisions, Saini is also busy changing Khattar’s political decisions. Recently, he has brought back to the BJP a leader who was considered a staunch opponent of Khattar in Haryana.

After this step of Saini in Haryana, the question is being raised that why is the Chief Minister doing this?

Saini overturned these decisions of Khattar

After the Lok Sabha elections, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini’s government has started reversing many decisions of former CM Manohar Lal Khattar. Firstly, the old order regarding Sarpanch has been changed. An order in this regard was also issued on Tuesday.

Now Sarpanch in Haryana can get work up to 21 lakh rupees without e-tendering. Earlier, without e-tendering, sarpanches could only get work done up to Rs.5 lakh. Along with this, the government has given one more gift to the Sarpanch.

Sarpanch in Haryana is also now a TA with a per kilometer taxi cost of Rs. 16 will be found. Along with this, the Chief Minister has taken another big decision and said that now DC and SP chair will be same in every meeting in the state.

Apart from the administration, Naib Singh Saini has also reversed a political decision of Khattar. Rajendra Desujodha, who was a candidate from Kanlawali assembly seat in Sirsa district in 2014 elections, was disqualified in 2019 due to Manohar Lal Khattar.

Then Desujodha Shiromani joined the Akali Dal. In 2019, he finished second here. Desujodhana Souni has made a comeback before the elections. Desujodha has been a vocal opponent of Khattar.

Why is Saini reversing Khattar’s decisions?

This issue was raised in the feedback of MLAs

This time in the Lok Sabha elections BJP has won only 5 out of 10 seats in Haryana. BJP won all 10 seats in 2014 and 2019. This was followed by a review of the defeat, in which the MLAs raised several issues.

BJP MLAs said that the sarpanch’s power affects the transfer of votes. The opposition made this an issue in every village, due to which we lost the election.

According to the Haryana government, the state has around 6200 Sarpanchs, 60,133 Panchas, 3081 Block Committee members and 411 Zilla Parishad members. Apart from this, four more issues were raised by the MLAs. That includes big problems like property-family ID.

Do numbers and equations well

If we look at the results of Haryana Lok Sabha elections, BJP has got lead in 44 seats, Congress in 42 seats and AAP in 4 seats in the state. There are total 90 assembly seats in the state and 46 seats are required for majority.

BJP’s vote count has also decreased. In the Lok Sabha elections, the BJP got around 60 lakh votes, while the India Alliance got more than 61 lakh votes.

Saini is reforming the equation by bringing back old leaders. They are particularly eyeing seats where the BJP lost or came third in the last election.

Desujodha, who was a candidate from Sirsa’s Kanlawali seat, has recently been brought back to the party. In the last election, BJP was ranked third on this seat.
