Assembly elections are to be held in Haryana in the next few months. The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is desperate to score a hat-trick of electoral victories. Before the elections, the BJP government of Haryana has made a big announcement regarding the Agnveer Yojana. Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini has said that the state government will give 10 percent reservation to firefighters in police recruitment and mining guard recruitment. Apart from this many other beneficial schemes have been announced for them.

Chief Minister Saini on Wednesday announced a major scheme for firefighters. He said that Haryana government will arrange 10 percent reservation for firefighters in police recruitment as well as mining guard recruitment. Not only this, age relaxation of 3 years will also be given to Agniveer in Group C and D recruitment. Apart from this, provision of 5 percent reservation will be made in Group C recruitment.

The opposition has been campaigning against the Agniveer Yojana ahead of the elections and it is believed that the Bharatiya Janata Party faced resentment over the Agniveer Yojana in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections. Taking lessons from the party’s poor performance in the general elections, the BJP is trying to reduce its negative image in the upcoming assembly elections.
