Anil Vij attacks Congress candidate list: Senior BJP leader Anil Vij on Sunday claimed that there are some tainted faces in the list of Congress candidates in Haryana. He said that the first list of 32 candidates announced by the Congress on October 5 has some tarnished faces. The BJP leader said that people know that giving power in the hands of such people can prove very dangerous.
The former home minister of the state also expressed confidence that the BJP will retain power with an absolute majority in Haryana. He said that the Congress list released on Friday has many faces who are facing cases. Many have been implicated in money laundering cases by the ED. Meanwhile, the BJP leader has also accused the Congress of cheating the farmers.
‘Congress list seen, many tarnished faces included’
BJP MLA from Ambala Cantonment Anil Vij said he has seen the Congress list released on Friday. He said, ‘Some tarnished faces are also involved. And voters know that putting power in the hands of such people can be very dangerous. Congress has renominated all 28 sitting MLAs. A BJP MLA has also hit out at this.
He said, ‘One of them, Sonipat MLA Surendra Panwar, is in jail after being arrested by the ED. The ED had arrested Panwar in a money laundering case related to illegal mining in July. Vij alleged, ‘Panwar is not the only tainted person in this list. Bhupendra Singh Hooda is also facing the case. A case is going on against the party’s Ferozepur Zirka MLA Mamman Khan in the Noah violence case.
Congress was also attacked on the issue of farmers
Bhupendra Singh Hooda has been re-nominated from Garhi Sampla-Kiloi. Meanwhile, Mamman Khan was arrested last year and later released on bail. At the same time, Vij said, ‘Another Congress MLA from Samalkha, Dharam Singh Chokar, who is facing an ED case, has been given a ticket again… This is the face of the Congress.’
He also attacked the Congress on the issue of farmers. Vij alleged that Congress claims to be the interest of farmers. But during his reign, notices for land acquisition were issued to farmers. Their lands were acquired at exorbitant prices and then handed over to the builder.
‘I met many farmers and they said they were living in fear, they didn’t know when their land would be taken away,’ he claimed. Vij said, ‘There is a difference between words and actions. Everything Congress has done for farmers is documented. At the same time, Congress termed BJP as anti-farmer and said, ‘This is its propaganda. People don’t believe it.
Aam Aadmi Party’s lamp has gone out
Meanwhile, the former minister said the BJP will retain power with an absolute majority. “We will form our government with an absolute majority,” he told PTI when asked about his assessment of the BJP in the election, which Vij said would be a direct contest between the major parties.

On the influence of other parties including Janayak Janata Party (JJP) and Indian National Lok Dal (INLD), he said that regional parties have almost disappeared. Competition is between major parties. He also dismissed the Aam Aadmi Party’s prospects in the state. Vij said, ‘His lamp went out in Delhi and a new lamp cannot be lit from an extinguished lamp.’
Anil Vij will contest from Ambala Cantonment seat
This time also BJP has made Anil Vij as its candidate from Ambala Cantonment seat. Regarding his campaign, he said, ‘I am going to contest my seventh election. My campaign is run by the people, as it always has been. Vij said that there is no area or village in his area where there is no development. Polling for Haryana Assembly will be held on October 5 and counting of votes will take place on October 8.
