Sonia Gandhi and Bhupendra Hooda
Congress has announced the first list of candidates for the Haryana assembly elections, in which 32 candidates have been announced. Meanwhile, the party is trying to end factionalism. Sources say that there is confusion over the tickets of leaders’ sons in Haryana Congress. In this context, veteran Congress leader Sonia Gandhi has intervened and clarified the picture on how the tickets will be distributed.
Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, Chaudhary Virendra Singh, who returned to the Congress from the BJP, was seeking a ticket for his sitting MP son Brijendra Singh, but the party did not give him a ticket. Now he is seeking ticket for his son from Uchana Kala seat in Haryana assembly election.
Screening committee decision, MPs will not get tickets
At the same time, Randeep Surjewala himself is seeking a ticket from the Kaithal Assembly, but if he does not get a ticket for himself, he is seeking a ticket for his son Aditya. Apart from this, Hisar MP Jayprakash wants a ticket from Kalayat for his son Vikas.
Meanwhile, Bhupendra Hooda’s Rajya Sabha MP son Dipendra Hooda has also sought an assembly ticket. In fact, the screening committee has decided that none of the MPs will get tickets, but Kumari Shailja and Randeep Surjewala, who are vying for CM, are not holding back in seeking tickets for themselves. They are requesting the intervention of the party high command. To counter this threat, the Hooda camp has launched a new strategy.
Khadge will talk to Rahul Gandhi
In the CEC meeting held on Friday, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge asked sub-committee chief Madhusudan Mistry to decide on the tickets of leaders’ sons, Mistry immediately said that my job is to scrutinize the candidates. You and Rahul Gandhi should decide whether to give ticket or not. On his statement, Sonia Gandhi immediately intervened and said that tickets should be given only on merit. Now it is believed that Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge himself will contact Rahul Gandhi who has gone abroad and take a decision on the issue.
