After much churning in Haryana, the Congress has finally announced its first list of candidates for the assembly elections. Congress has announced the names of 31 candidates in this list. According to the released list, the Congress has given tickets to three MLAs who are under investigation by the ED (Enforcement Directorate). They include Surendra Panwar from Sonipat, Dharam Singh Chaukar from Samalkha and Rao Dan Singh from Mahendragarh.
In fact, the Congress CEC meeting was going on for several days in Delhi regarding the names of the candidates. A meeting was also held under the leadership of Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Friday. After which the names of 31 candidates were finalized. Along with Khadge, many senior leaders including Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi and Bhupendra Hooda were present in this meeting.
Surendra Panwar is in jail
Surendra Panwar is the current MLA from Sonepat. ED arrested him in July, he is currently in jail. Let us tell you that ED raided Surendra Panwar’s house in a case related to illegal mining. After this action was taken and the Congress MLA was arrested.
Serious allegations against Dharamsingh Chowkar too
Besides, Dharam Singh Chowkar, MLA from Panipat’s Samalkha seat, and his son Vikas Par are accused in the case of money laundering and personal use of Rs 360 crore from investors in developing Mahira Homes Affordable Housing Society in Sector-68. ED is also investigating the matter.
Procedure in case of money laundering
In July, the ED had booked Rao Dan Singh, a Congress MLA from Haryana’s Mahendragarh, in a money laundering case related to a bank-loan fraud. During the raid, the ED seized a large amount of cash from the premises of the Congress MLA. Not only this, the ED also claimed to have seized more than 30 undeclared flats and land-related documents at places belonging to the MLA and his family. Let us tell you that Rao Dan Singh has been an MLA four times. Now once again Congress has expressed confidence in him.
