First list of Congress candidates.
For the Haryana assembly elections, the Congress has put in all its strength to oust the BJP from power. Congress has announced candidates for 32 seats on Friday. In which an attempt has been made to create a caste equation. The party has given maximum representation to Jats and Scheduled Castes in this list.
In Haryana, the issue of Jats and non-Jats dominates the elections. The state has a large population of Jats, so neither party wants to incur their displeasure. This is the reason why Congress has expressed confidence in 9 Jats in its first list.
An attempt to solve the caste equation
Actually in the first list of Congress 9 Jats, 9 SCs, 7 OBCs, two Brahmins, three Muslims, one Punjabi and one Sikh candidate have been given tickets. Let us tell you that in the first list, former Chief Minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda has been fielded from the traditional seat of Garhi Sampla Kiloi. While female wrestler Vinesh Phogat is starting her political career from Julana assembly seat. Along with this, Congress has made its state president Udaybhan a candidate from Hodal seat.

First list of 32 candidates
Let us tell you that on Friday, the Congress had first announced the list of 31 candidates, but after some time, the CEC said in a statement that the party has nominated Balbir Singh from the ISRA seat (reserved). Balbir Singh is the sitting MLA from Isra’s seat, the Congress has expressed confidence once in all its 28 MLAs. Congress has fielded Mewa Singh against Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini.
5 women have been given tickets
Five women have also been nominated in the first list released by the Congress for the Haryana assembly elections. Apart from Vinesh Phogat, the remaining four women are sitting MLAs and include former Minister of State Geeta Bhukkal.
The Congress has also given ticket to Janayak Janata Party (JJP) rebel Ram Karan, who has joined the party, and independent MLA Dharampal Gondar from Shahabad assembly seat (SU). Dharampal recently joined the Congress. Congress has fielded Surendra Panwar from Sonipat, Bharat Bhushan Batra from Rohtak, Kuldeep Vats from Badli, Chiranjeev Rao from Rewari and Neeraj Sharma from NIT Faridabad.
Phogat will contest from Julana
Regarding the possibility of any MP contesting elections, Babria said after the CEC meeting that no MP has been allowed to contest assembly elections till date. When Vinesh Phogat was asked about contesting, he said, “I think it has been decided that he will contest from Julana.”
