After the suspicious death of gym trainer Wasim alias Monu, Haridwar’s Roorkee is in an uproar. On Thursday, Congress MP Imran Masood, former Uttarakhand CM Harish Rawat and several Congress leaders reached the deceased Wasim’s house in Solapur. In fact, according to police officials, Wasim died due to drowning in the lake, while his family alleges that the police beat up Wasim for calling him a cow smuggler. After meeting the victim’s family, the Congress delegation said that they will bring justice to Vasil.

If we talk about Wasim aka Monu, he was very fond of gym. He used to run a gym in his own village Solahpur in Roorkee and was also a trainer in his own gym. Some photo-videos of Wasim’s gym have also surfaced, in which he is seen doing bodybuilding. Along with this Wasim also knew the working of electronics. He used to repair refrigerators, washing machines and household lights. He was also often out of town for electronic work.

Wasim was the sole earner in the house

Wasim alias Monu was the eldest in his family. He has five younger sisters. He was the sole breadwinner in the house. Father was working as a laborer. Wasim had the responsibility of his entire family. After his death, the family members are in a bad condition and are crying. The parents are accusing the police of murder. Parents say their son was killed after being accused of cow smuggling, when he was only concerned about his work. He used to run his own gym and also earn a few rupees from electronic work.

Waseem aka Monu died by drowning?

On the night of August 24/25, the cow protection squad of the police in Madhopur village of Roorkee Ganganahar Kotwali area claimed that they tried to nab a Muslim youth on a scooter with alleged beef, which the youth Wasim alias Monu jumped off. Due to which he died due to drowning. On the other hand, the villagers alleged that the cow protection squad of the police brutally beat Waseem after asking his name and later threw him into the lake.

What did the Haridwar police say?

According to a statement issued by the Haridwar Police, the cow protection team received information about beef trafficking in Kotwali Ganganahar area on Sunday morning. After receiving information, they stopped a suspected scooter rider in Madhopur village. The police claimed that the man then left the scooter and ran away and jumped into the village pond, where he drowned. Police said villagers in the area surrounded the police team and alleged that the police beat up the suspect and threw him into the lake and did not allow him to come out, leading to his death.

The villagers claimed that when they reached the spot, the cow protection squad threatened them with guns and asked them to leave. The villagers protested and demanded action. It is alleged that the cow protection squad killed the youth. Villagers who went to rescue him were also threatened. In this case, the police have registered a case against hundreds of unknown people, including named people, based on the complaint of the cow protection squad inspector.
