In Hamirpur district, cyber thugs hacked SDM’s ID and password and transferred Rs 16 lakh belonging to 84 farmers to their accounts. The district administration was also stunned after this matter came to light.
6 lakh rupees were spent by switching bank accounts
The matter is related to Hamirpur district headquarters SDM Pawan Kumar Pathak. The ID and password given to victims of natural calamities were hacked by miscreants. During this time he changed the bank accounts of 84 rain-affected farmers and registered their accounts and withdrew Rs 16 lakh. The SDM was stunned as soon as he got the information about the matter. He reported this to his superiors and also filed a police complaint.

According to SDM Sadar Pawan Pathak, Rs 19 crore was allocated to him for natural disaster management. Which was to be given to people affected by fire, floods, landslides and heavy rains. Out of which the hackers took 16 lakh rupees. He said that to disburse grants to hail-affected farmers, accountants fed their details online through their login IDs.
Account numbers of 84 farmers were changed
Pawan Pathak said that after approval at all levels, payment was sent online to farmers’ accounts. But if there was any mistake during feeding, the payment was returned. On which offline data was modified and sent. Account numbers of 84 farmers registered in the return list were changed by unknown hackers. He said that Rs 16 lakh was mostly sent to accounts managed in Maharajganj and Gorakhpur.
Accountant suspended
On July 1, ADM Finance and Revenue Vijay Shankar Tiwari sent a letter to SDMs and Tehsildars of Sadar and Maudha tehsils to get the amount remitted from the treasury into the bank accounts of the rain-affected farmers. After which, when the money of 11 farmers, residents of Pandhari village in Sumerpur area, reached another account, accountant Pradeep Yadav was suspended as prima facie guilty. After which this whole matter came up.
