Grandson benefited from grandfather’s case in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh. This benefit to grandson is Rs. Not 1.2 lakhs, but Rs. 16 lakh has been received. After 44 years, his grandson has received over Rs 16 lakh as compensation in a case filed by his grandfather. On the order of the High Court, the Electricity Department paid 16 lakh 48 thousand rupees in the form of DD. The entire incident took place 44 years ago when Babulal Shah Mal was a resident of Godam Road.

He installed a flour mill and a speller mill. He had dues from the electricity department. The department filed a case for non-payment of dues. After this the customer approached the court. The civil court had ordered that the electricity connection of the customer should not be disconnected and the bill should be deposited. However, the electricity was cut. The customer went to court. Due to non-payment even after a court order, the government office of the Electricity Department, Lal Darwaza, was sealed on August 14, 2024.

The department sued and cut off the power

On January 20, 1980, Babulal Sahu, a resident of Mall Godown Road in Sadar Kotwali area, filed a case against the Electricity Department for non-payment of outstanding connection bills of a flour mill and speller machine installed by the department. After this the customer approached the court and at that time the civil court ordered that the customer’s electricity connection should not be disconnected and he should deposit the bill. However, his department cut off his electricity. Due to this, grandfather’s business was closed. Babulal Sahu filed a case on 20 January 1980 for loss of business due to power cut.

The office of the power department was sealed

Dates continued in this matter and once on 26 May 1990 the office of the Electricity Department was sealed on the order of the court. Later the department opened it through the court and even then the case was going on in the court. In this case, the court on 1 May 2014 ordered compensation of ₹4000 per month for about 34 years from 20 January 1980 to 1 May 2014. According to this order, the victim was to get 16 lakh 48 thousand rupees.

Babulal Sahu, the plaintiff in this ongoing case since 1980, also died some time ago. After him, the case continued to be defended by his grandsons Krishna Kumar Sahu and Ganesh Sahu. The Lal Darwaza office of the Electricity Department was sealed once again on 14 August 2024 for not paying the compensation amount to the victim despite the court order. In which the office of the Superintending Engineer Power Division, the office of the Executive Engineer Meter and the office of the Executive Engineer Power Division 3 remained closed for about 15 to 16 days. However, later the people of the department took the help of the court and it was opened on the instructions of the court.

The High Court gave a DD of more than 16 lakhs to the grandson

The entire matter was going on in the High Court, in which the High Court had recently sent a notice to Babulal’s grandson as well as the Electricity Department. After receiving the information of this notice, both the parties reached the High Court and there the Electricity Department officer gave a bank draft of 16 lakh 48 thousand rupees to Babulal’s grandson Ganesh Sahu in front of the court.

Ganesh Sahu who is a lawyer by profession was also pleading his case. He said that he had gone to the High Court on the notice of the Allahabad High Court.
