Three people have been killed in gunfire between two sides in a land dispute in Morena.
A major firing took place today in Madhya Pradesh’s Murena district. Two parties came face to face over the issue of plowing government land in Gilapura village of Ambah police station area. First there was a fight between the two sides, then the guns started firing. Meanwhile, the uncle-nephew of one party was killed by the bullet, while a person from the other party was injured due to the bullet. On receiving the information, the police immediately reached and admitted the injured person to the hospital, but he also died during the treatment. The police are busy investigating the incident, but the biggest question is how did such a big incident happen?
According to the information received from the villagers, there is 11 bigha of government land in the village. The dispute over the possession of this land was going on between the two parties for a long time. The two sides had clashed several times before, but the matter was resolved through talks. Today, while one party was plowing the same land, the other party reached there and started arguing. Meanwhile, the dispute escalated to such an extent that a shootout broke out between the two sides.
Questions raised on police administration
In the firing, 28-year-old Ambarish Sharma and his nephew Abhishek Sharma, 20, of the same family, died due to bullet injuries. On the other hand, 50-year-old Shyam Babu Sharma also died due to bullet injury. The villagers said that in this incident there is negligence on the part of the administration officials, due to which such cases take a big form. The Tahsildar and Patwari of the area do not pay much attention to land matters. People start trying to settle these disputes among themselves and results emerge.
Land disputes are a major problem in Morena
Villagers said that in our area there are small and big fights in every family regarding land. When people go to the administration for help in this regard, the administrative officials turn away saying that they will be taken care of. Regarding the Gilapura incident that happened on Thursday, people around say that one side is dominant, while the other side is weak. The Dabang family always wanted to occupy this land, but they could not succeed in their plans. Today there is such a big scandal regarding this business.
The uncle-nephew was killed in the firing
In this incident, people from one side killed two people from the other side, who appeared to be uncle and nephew. People from the other side beat up a 50-year-old man from the opposite side’s house. Along with this, information is also being received from the sources that the party which killed the two people later realized that the matter has escalated and two youths have died. On this the opposite party shot dead an old man of his own house in the leg, so that the matter appeared equally before the police and the administration.
ASP informed about the incident
However, no official confirmation has been made yet. The police-administration is investigating the entire matter. Morena ASP Arvind Singh Thakur said that the firing between the two sides was due to a land dispute. Two people died on one side and one on the other. A case has been registered on the complaint of both the parties. In view of the tension, police arrangements have been made in the village. An investigation has also been conducted.
A year ago the Lepa incident took place in which 6 people lost their lives
It is worth mentioning that this kind of shooting incident in Morena is not new. Earlier on May 4, 2023, the Lepa incident took place, in which an old feud led to a dispute and 6 people lost their lives. Actually in Lepa village of Sihonia police station area, there was a fight between two families due to old enmity. Meanwhile, one side opened fire on the people on the other side. In this firing, 6 people were killed and some people were injured.
