Inspector suspended for negligence
Misdemeanors of policemen who bring Uttar Pradesh police into disrepute continue to come to light. One such case has come up in Bareilly. Where a young man tried to kill by shooting. To save the accused, the in-charge of the post arrested his driver and sent him to jail. Bareilly SP Anurag Arya has suspended Vikrant Arya, in-charge of the post, on this charge. The complainant had filed a suit in the court in this whole matter. Presently posting of Outpost Incharge was at Mudia Ahmednagar in Bahari and before that he was posted at Prem Nagar Police Station.
Manmohan Singh, a resident of Sukhmanpur, Banda Police Station, Shahjahanpur lodged a report on 4 July 2023 at Prem Nagar Police Station, Bareilly. He alleged that his son Jaskaran Singh had come to Bareilly to meet his friend Harpreet. At 11:20 pm on July 4, Jaskaran Singh along with his friends Harpreet and Kripa Singh were standing near the selection point of Prem Nagar police station. Meanwhile, a car arrived in which Jeevan Jyoti Singh, a resident of Bhagwanpur, Faridpur, and his three companions were present. Jeevan Jot fired at Jaskaran in an act of hostility. The bullet passed through Jaskaran’s neck and got stuck in his collar.
Inspector Vikrant R investigated the entire matter. During the investigation, the name of accused Jeevan Jot was revealed wrongly. In connivance with the accused, his driver Samrula’s name came to light and he was sent to jail. During the investigation, the inspector filed a charge sheet against Samarala for giving undue advantage to the accused and produced it in the court. Correct evidence was not produced and after a cursory investigation, the plaintiff filed a complaint in court.
The court ordered the SSP
The court ordered a re-investigation after the plaintiff filed a suit in the court. Bareilly Superintendent of Police has ordered CO Pankaj Srivastava to investigate. When an investigation was conducted, inspector Vikrant Arya’s negligence was exposed, following which the senior superintendent of police suspended the in-charge of the post. Outpost Incharge was posted at Mudia Chowki in Behedi Nagar, Bareilly. Even before this action has been taken against many policemen. But, inspectors and constables of Bareilly police do not budge from their activities.
SSP gave the information
Giving information about the entire matter, Bareilly SSP Anurag Arya said that the investigation has revealed the negligence of the inspector. A re-investigation was conducted. The inspector has been suspended and departmental action has been ordered.
