On January 1, 2024, the dearness allowance and relief for central government employees and pensioners was increased by 4 percent. After which the DA of employees reached 50 percent. After the DA of central government employees is increased to 50 percent, 13 allowances are expected to be increased from January 1, 2024. The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) also issued a circular in this regard on July 4. According to the EPFO ​​circular, the 13 allowances include HRA, transport allowance, hotel accommodation, deputation and split duty allowance.

These subsidies will increase

In the EPFO ​​circular, information has been given about those allowances in which there will be a 25 per cent hike after the DA of central government employees is increased by 50 per cent. Which includes touch location allowance, transport allowance, special allowance for children of women with disabilities, education linked allowance for children, HRA, hotel accommodation, reimbursement of travel expenses for intra-city travel (tourism station), food expenses/lump sum or reimbursement of daily allowance, or own car/taxi, auto rickshaw, own scooter, dress allowance, split duty allowance and delegation (duties) allowance etc. As per the Seventh Pay Commission (7th CPC) norms, for central government employees whose DA reaches 50 per cent of basic pay, other allowances will be increased by 25 per cent.
