Also the gods and goddesses also have to go through the process of divine court. Thousands of people from the tribal community participate in this yatra, where a unique tradition is observed.

In fact, every year on this fixed date in the month of Bhadon, at Kursighat Borai at the edge of Dhamtari district, there is a pilgrimage to Bhanga Rao Mai, the judge of the tribal deities, attended by Sihawa deities from sixteen parganas. Which includes twenty kos Bastar and seven pali Orissa. Thousands of people have come on Saturday 31st August to witness this unique centuries-old tradition and court of justice. Court of Bhangrao Mai

The centuries old temple of Bhangrao Mai

Kursighat houses the centuries-old court of Bhangrao Mai. It is known as the court of gods and goddesses. It is believed that without the permission of Bhangrao Mai, no deity can work in this area. Also, women are not allowed to visit this special court site. It is believed that people worship the gods and goddesses with faith and belief, but if the gods and goddesses do not fulfill their duty, Bhangrao Mai punishes them based on complaints. During the hearing, the gods and goddesses stand in the courtroom.

Here Bhangrao Mai sits as a judge. It is believed that after the trial the criminal gets punishment and the complainant gets justice. If any kind of trouble or problem cannot be solved in the village, the gods and goddesses established in the village are held responsible. As a farewell, the villagers take a goat or chicken marked with deities and lat, Bairang, doli with coconut and whole rice on the Bhangrao Yatra held once a year.

Satan is known

Here, in the presence of Bhangrao Mai, the devils, gods and goddesses from many villages are identified one by one. After this, the anga, doli, lad, hen, goat, dang brought along with the bairang are thrown on the edge of a deep pit like pit, which the villagers call jail. After the puja, accusations against the gods and goddesses are heard seriously. Village leaders including Sirha, Pujari, Gaita, Maji, Patel are present to present arguments on behalf of the accused party. After a serious hearing of both the parties, the verdict is given after proving the charges. It is believed that if found guilty, the deities are punished in this way. Manoj Sakshi said that the tour has become more important this year. Because this time after many generations the deity has changed his attire.

However, gods and goddesses are known for justice. Oaths are taken in the name of gods and goddesses in common traditions from courts, but if the same gods and goddesses have to go through the court process, this is indeed a unique tradition that is seen somewhere in this. Age of Modernity.
