The condition of council schools in Ghazipur district of Uttar Pradesh government has deteriorated. The government spends thousands of crores of rupees every year to repair these schools but still the condition of these schools is dilapidated. There are many problems in these schools. This fact has come to light not from anywhere else but in the departmental inquiry of the government. A departmental investigation has revealed that hundreds of schools in the district have become dilapidated. Not only this, high tension line wires are also passing over many schools, due to which students are forced to come to school every day risking their lives.
Talking about the status of schools in Ghazipur, there are about 2,269 council schools in the district, in which three lakh students study. However, the condition of schools in the district is dilapidated. A departmental inquiry has revealed that out of 2,269 council schools in the district, 250 schools have become completely dilapidated. They have become so dilapidated that they are not at all safe for children.
High tension wires passing over 194 schools
After a departmental inquiry, such schools have been identified and given red color by the education department officials. Not only this, around 194 schools have been identified over which high tension line wires pass, including 1,33,000 volt line above Composite School Dhelwa, 65,000 volt line above Upper Primary School Andakh, Primary School Sarwar 44,000 The Vault Line passes over the city, but it’s not limited to that.
There are eight schools in the district over which 33,000 volt lines pass. There are 116 schools over which 1,10,000 volt lines are passing. Basic Education Officer Hemant Rao said that the safety week was organized by the department. During this week, all Block Education Officers were assigned the responsibility of assessing the schools in their areas. Such schools especially located along the banks of rivers and lakes were entrusted with the responsibility of assessment.

Along with this, the responsibility of checking the dilapidated condition of the schools was also entrusted to the officials. Keeping this in mind, a meeting was organized on Tuesday under the chairmanship of the CDO (Chief Development Officer), in which an estimate was sought from the power department for removing power wires from all the schools.
