Thieves stole jewelry
Thieves have targeted the closed flat of a retired teacher near Angoori Park, Rajendra Nagar Sector 3, Sahibabad, Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad Commissionerate. The thieves broke the lock of the flat and stole around 35 tolas of gold, foreign currency and around Rs 40 lakh from the flat. The retired teacher went to her daughter’s house in Gurugram for the past 5 months. A few days later when he returned to his flat, he found the lock of the flat broken. After this he informed the police. The retired teacher says the thieves also cooked and ate food in the kitchen of his home during the theft.
A theft incident took place in a flat near Anguri Devi Park located in Rajendra Nagar Sector 3, a posh area of Sahibabad. While carrying out the theft, when he was tired, he rested at home and then cooked and ate and then again broke the locks of the cupboards and other rooms and stole valuables from all over the house.
The lady teacher went to live with her daughter
Based on the complaint of the victim, the Sahibabad police station has registered a case of theft. Neeta Pal, a retired teacher, said that one of her daughters has moved to Dubai after marriage, while the other younger daughter lives with her family in Gurugram after marriage. The retired teacher also said that she lives alone in the flat after her husband’s death. A maid has been employed for the past 17 years to clean the house and cook food.
5 months ago a retired teacher locked her flat and went to her younger daughter living in Gurugram and after about 5 months on Saturday at 3:30 pm when she returned to her flat she found the lock of the flat broken. And food and many other items were also found strewn in the drawing room inside the flat.
Theft under the guise of 40 lakhs
After coming home, the teacher saw things scattered and informed the police. Neeta Pal said that the thieves stole 4 gold neck sets, gold chain, ring, mangalsutra and beads worth about 35 tolas from the cupboard kept in her house. The stolen jewelry is estimated to be worth Rs 32 to 35 lakh. The thieves also stole foreign currency worth Rs.5 lakh and other valuables kept in the cupboard of the house. All the goods are said to cost around Rs 40 lakh.
As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot and started the investigation after reaching the house. Sahibabad ACP Rajnish Upadhyay said that the CCTV footage of the surrounding area is being scanned to nab the thieves. The teacher and the police also believe that a know-it-all may be involved in the burglary at the house, as the thieves ransacked the goods inside the store room and broke the central lock of the cupboard. The police have detained the accused and are interrogating them. Along with this, the police is also trying to identify the thieves from the CCTV footage of the surrounding area.
