Will Gautam Gambhir become the new coach of Team India or not?
Everyone is curious to know when the BCCI will announce the new coach of the Indian team. But even before that, Gautam Gambhir’s latest statement on this question has raised many eyebrows. For some days, there were reports that Gaut Gambhir is going to become the new head coach of the Indian team. But after hearing his recent statement, it seems that the matter is not finalized yet. Former India opener and KKR mentor in IPL 2024, Gautam Gambhir was questioned about becoming the head coach of the Indian team in Kolkata. But Gambhir avoided giving a direct answer. Gambhir said, “I am happy with where I am right now, not thinking too far ahead.”
Rahul Dravid’s tenure as the head coach of Team India will end after the current T20 World Cup 2024. Therefore, there were reports that Gautam Gambhir would become the captain or head coach of the Indian team after Rahul Dravid. When applications were sought for this post, there were also reports that only Gambhir had applied to the BCCI to become the coach. It was revealed that Gautam Gambhir was the only one interviewed by the BCCI Cricket Advisory Committee to become the coach. But after media reports and Gambhir’s statement, it is clear that the problem of the head coach will not be solved till tomorrow.

While talking to PTI in Kolkata, Gautam Gambhir was asked about becoming the head coach of Team India. Then he said that it is difficult to answer this question at the moment. I don’t even think so far ahead. All I can say right now is that I am happy where I am. This statement of Gambhir has increased the curiosity of the entire countrymen.
What actually happened?
According to reports, BCCI itself had contacted Gautam Gambhir for the post of head coach of Team India. Even after inviting applications for the post of head coach, the board was in constant touch with Gambhir. Because of this, it was expected that Gambhir would be the next head coach of the Indian team. But, after Gambhir’s statement, those speculations have come to an end for the time being. In such a situation, now everyone’s attention is focused on what official statement BCCI will give in this regard.
