UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath
The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh operates on a policy of zero tolerance against corruption. A recent example is IAS officer Devi Sharan Upadhyay. He has been suspended on charges of arbitrarily restoring the lease of 35 plots in Aligarh. He has been suspended on the directive of CM Yogi. He is a 2012 batch IAS officer.
Devi Sharan Yogi is not the first officer to be suspended in the government. Yogi Adityanath came to power in 2017. Many IAS-IPS officers have been suspended so far during their 7-year tenure. The first name in this list is that of Himanshu Kumar. Himanshu Kumar was suspended on 25 March 2017, days after Adityanath was sworn in as the Chief Minister of the state.
2010 batch IPS officer Himanshu Kumar was suspended after posting a controversial post on social media. He was later reinstated. On 24 May the same year, the then SSP Saharanpur Subhash Chandra Dubey was suspended for failing to control caste clashes in the district. A youth was killed in this incident. The then SP of Sambhal, RM Bhardwaj, was suspended following the incident of gang-rape and burning of a woman alive in the district.
On the same day, the then SP of Pratapgarh, Santosh Kumar Singh, was also suspended following the death of a woman under mysterious circumstances. Chief Minister Adityanath also ordered departmental action against the two officers. Both were later reinstated.

In the same year, the then district police chief Rohan P Kanay was suspended after the alleged sexual abuse of 20 girls at an illegally run shelter home in Deoria came to light. A departmental inquiry was started against him.
In February 2019, ADG (Rules and Guidelines) Jasveer Singh was suspended for indiscipline. After two months, Barabanki SP Satish Kumar was suspended. He was accused of embezzling 65 lakh rupees from a trading company.
In August 2019, the then Bulandshahr SSP N Kolanchi was removed due to alleged irregularities in the transfer and posting of the in-charge of the police station. In the same year, the then SSP of Prayagraj Atul Sharma was suspended for failing to control the rising crime rate in the district. Before his suspension, there were six murders in the district in 12 hours.
In 2019 itself, Vaibhav Krishna, posted as SSP of Gautam Buddha Nagar, was suspended. The next officer to face prosecution was Aparna Gupta, who was posted as the SP of Kanpur South. He was accused of allegedly being negligent in the kidnapping and murder of a lab technician. Gupta was suspended along with other police officers after the abductee was found dead. In March 2022, action was taken against Sonbhadra DM TK Shibhu and Ghaziabad SSP Pawan Kumar. He was suspended.
