Four girls were swept away by the strong current while taking a bath in the Parvati river on the occasion of Rishi Panchami festival in Mania police station area of ​​Rajasthan’s Dholpur district on Sunday morning. A team of police and SDRF along with locals are searching for the girls.
Reporting the case, police officer Narash Sharma said that some girls were taking a bath in river Parvati on the occasion of Rishi Panchami in Bothapura village, when two of them started drowning in the deep water and two more girls tried to save them. In this way all the four girls were swept away in the strong current of river Parvati. He said that a group of 20 village girls had gone to bathe in the river. Out of which four girls drowned in the river. Two girls Anjali and Tanu are real sisters. Currently SDRF search operation is going on.
The accident occurred due to strong current
He said the girls found in the river have been identified as Mohini (14), Priya (12), Anjali (14) and Tanu (10). Due to continuous heavy rains, the Parvati dam is flooded. Three gates of Parvati Dam were opened yesterday on Saturday. Due to which the water flow in Parvati river has increased. Due to the festival of Rishi Panchami, many girls went to bathe in Parvati river. The four girls went into deep water and were swept away by the strong current.
The search for the girls is on
As soon as the information about the matter was received, Mania police station has reached with SDRF team and is searching for the girls. However, they are also facing many problems due to the strong current. As of now, none of the girls have been found, local divers and SDRF teams are still busy searching. A huge crowd of villagers has gathered on both banks of the river Parvati at the scene.
