Gorakhpur Link Expressway
The central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a big gift to Bihar in its very first budget. The most important of these are two new expressways in the state. Work on both the Patna-Purnia 300 km and Gaya-Buxar-Bhagalpur 386 km expressways will begin in the current financial year in patches of 100 km each. The project will cost around 26000 crore rupees. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman gave this information in her budget speech. With this announcement in the budget speech, the way has been paved for the construction of expressway for the first time in the state.
Along with this, it has also been clarified that both the expressways will be constructed before the expressway proposed by the state government, which will benefit the people of Vaishali, Begusarai, Nalanda, Lakhisarai, Munger, Khagaria, Madhepura and Purna of Patna. There will be an expressway. At the same time, the expressway connecting Buxar, Gaya and Bhagalpur will benefit the people of Buxar, Bhojpur, Rohtas, Arwal, Aurangabad, Gaya, Jehanabad, Nawada, Jamui, Sheikhpura, Banka and Bhagalpur.
Center’s focus on Bihar
The JDU-backed Modi government led by Bihar CM Nitish Kumar made it clear at the swearing-in ceremony itself that eight MPs from Bihar including Lalan Singh, Jitan Ram Manjhi, Chirag Paswan, Giriraj Singh, Nityanand Rai were made. Central government will not focus on Bihar this time. Now in the first budget, the Center has showered gifts for Bihar. While reading her budget speech, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sita Raman said that work is underway on the 521 km DPR from Gorakhpur to Siliguri via Kishanganj and the 719 km Raxaul-Haldia Expressway.
Bharatmala project also has two expressways
He said that the project of these two expressways included in the central government’s Bharatmala project was prepared long ago, but for some reason the work could not be started on it. According to the Finance Minister, the buried files of both these projects have been unearthed and their DPRs have been called from the Road Transport Department. Efforts are being made to start work on a patch of 100 km each of these two expressways in the current financial year itself. According to the Finance Minister, the Central Government is working under Vision 2047. For this, a target has been set to start construction of roads quickly and complete them on time.
These districts will also be connected by expressway
According to the Finance Minister, the Gorakhpur to Siliguri Expressway to be constructed under the Bharatmala project will start from Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh, passing through East Champaran, Shivhar, Sitamarhi, Muzaffarpur, Begusarai, Lakhisarai, Jamui and Banka districts. It will be held in Siliguri in Bihar and West Bengal. The big thing is that the Gorakhpur-Panipat expressway will be connected with this expressway. With this, not only Bihar but also Uttar Pradesh and Haryana will get direct connectivity from West Bengal.
