Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today participated in the ‘Halwa Ceremony’ traditionally held before the budget at the Finance Ministry. She also served halwa with her own hands to the officials involved in preparing the budget. With this ‘Halwa Ceremony’, the work of printing and documenting the budget will begin.
Another special significance of the ‘Halwa Ceremony’ is that after this day the doors of the Ministry of Finance are closed till the presentation of the budget.
