After the lockdown, even though the release of films started in full swing in 2021 and 2022, except for a few films, most of the films failed to bring audiences to the theatres. Since then most of the films have had disappointing box office collections. Meanwhile, efforts were made by many leading manufacturers to improve the deteriorating condition of the industry. But on the contrary, many films with high expectations of success also failed at the box office. Not only in Bollywood, but also in the South film industry, most of the films, barring a few, have flopped badly and due to this, most of the producers are financially broke by the year 2024.

Not only Vashu Bhagnani, this list can include the names of many producers who have not come out in the open till now. In such a situation, it would not be wrong to say that the entire film industry is going through a bad phase and in order to save the sinking ship of the film industry, it has become very important for the big stars of Bollywood to cut their payments.

Along with reducing their fees, these Bollywood stars also have to control their team members and their fees which are increasing day by day. According to sources, some big Bollywood actors have decided to reduce their fees by up to 30% in view of the poor state of the industry and even if the studio is dealing with three films, the actors are agreeing to it. To tax their budget. Let’s talk about this issue in detail.

The fees of the stars are touching the sky

Today, even though films made with a budget of crores of rupees like ‘Meydan’, ‘Bade Mian Chhote Mian’ have almost ruined the film industry financially, but despite these flops, some of the films that will be released in the future have sky-high budgets. For example, if we talk about Kalki 2898 AD, the film’s budget is said to be around 600 crores, with Prabhas’ fee around 150 crores and Deepika Padukone-Amitabh Bachchan’s fee around 20 crores. Recently, Hrithik Roshan charged around Rs 75 to 100 crores for Siddharth Anand’s film ‘Fighter’.

Even after openly demanding fees, some of the film’s lead actors expect the production house to bear the cost of their luxury vanity vans, personal chefs, etc. Due to such demand from the actors, the daily production cost on the hero of that film is around Rs 20 lakh and due to this, if a film has a budget of Rs 500 crore, the budget is reached by the time it is completed. 600 to 700 crore goes. Along with being an actor, producer Salman Khan also complained about the budget during ‘Tiger 3’. Apart from this, recently an actor made a big revelation in an interview that the hero’s bodyguards get much more money than the fees paid to the side actors of films.

Most of the time, due to the fear of saving their film, the producers are forced to fulfill the unreasonable demands of some actors and suffer the consequences later. But it is heard that some producers are now considering banning it.

Different ways of charging artist fees

There was a time when an entire film was made between 35 to 40 crore rupees. But today the average hero fee is Rs 35 to 40 crores. But the fees of some superstars are so high that it is a bit difficult for a producer to pay such a huge amount at once and so heroes take their fees in different ways. For example, if sources are to be believed, Amitabh Bachchan currently collects his fee in a lump sum, or charges the production house per minute for the time he is present on the sets. Now it depends on the producer how they want to pay Amitabh Bachchan. For example, for Kalki 2898 AD, Amitabh Bachchan was paid around Rs 20 crore.

Some of the biggest Bollywood superstars Salman Khan, Shahrukh Khan,Akshay KumarAjay Devgn does not charge crores of rupees, rather he becomes a partner in the film. Like Shah Rukh Khan made films like ‘Jawaan’, ‘Dinky’ under the banner of ‘Red Chillies Entertainment’. Thus, Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn and Aamir Khan are associated with the film as producers and if they are doing a film with another producer, they want their share in the profits of the film so that their fees of crores of rupees are paid. The producer can be paid but it should not be a burden.

Unique ways to collect fees

Apart from this, according to information, some actors like Akshay Kumar meet their fee by taking one region of the film, like in cities like Mumbai and Delhi, one region is charged as collection fee from the actor. As far as other actors like Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh and Kartik Aaryan are concerned, they take their entire fee through cheque, which is Rs. 40 crore to Rs. 250 crores.
