Ahmed Raza reached Kedarnath Dham

A pilgrimage to Baba Kedarnath Dham… It is almost everyone’s dream to go here. It is a great thing for anyone to visit this abode of Bhole Baba who lives in the high valleys. But going this far is not within everyone’s reach. This is because of the very complicated route and the dangerous climb of the mountains. Although there is a helicopter facility to reach Baba’s Dham, people prefer to go to the Dham on foot or pithu due to its expensive fare.

Reaching Kedar Dham on foot is not an easy task. From Khali Gaurikund, where this climb starts, the journey to the temple is about 20 to 25 km. The road is not straight and the weather is also unknown. Especially during the rains, the path to the temple becomes very narrow and slippery, but it becomes easy for those with an innocent heart to reach it. One such story of courage and devotion is that of 21-year-old Ahmed Razani, a resident of Kaima village in Kothibhar police station area of Maharajganj, UP.

Religion should not be a barrier

Ahmed is a Muslim but has equal devotion to Bhole Baba, so he resolves to walk from his home to Baba Kedar’s place. It seems impossible to think, but with his true devotion, love for Baba and courage, Ahmed not only decided to undertake this journey against all odds but also completed it. On the strength of his courage, he completed this journey to Lord Kedarnath Dham on foot in 21 days. On July 22, Ahmed returned home after having Baba’s darshan in Kedarnath.

Share my experience

After having Baba’s darshan at Kedarnath Dham, Ahmed uploaded a video on social media in which he shared his experience. Ahmed Raza, a resident of Kaima village, said that he is studying BA in a college in Nichlaul town. Younger brother Arshad Raza also studies. Father Tanveer Alam is a teacher in a madrasa and mother Najma Khatoon takes care of the household chores. Ahmad loved to walk from home to Kedarnath Dham to see Baba. He was already busy preparing to fulfill his hobby.

The journey started from 1st July

In such a situation, he took one thousand rupees from his mother and some friends before going on a journey. He then started the journey on 1st July and reached Kedarnath Dham on 22nd July. He traveled mostly by Google Maps. In this he resorted to bypass and shortcut routes, thus reducing his distance by about 1400 km. He used to cover a distance of about 60 to 65 kilometers every day.

I had blisters on my feet

During this time, initially he got blisters on his feet, but he did not lose heart. He kept moving towards his destination without stopping. He further stated that he had to spend many nights without food. Used to start walking between 4 and 5 in the morning. Stopping in between, then moving on. Later in the evening, when the roads were fine, we would have dinner and start walking again. In such condition he used to walk 40-45 km during the day and at least 20-25 km at night. If I had stopped, I would have felt more tired, so I kept walking.

The weather was difficult

Ahmed said that I am blessed to see Baba after a long journey. Otherwise, many had to turn back due to bad weather. Due to heavy snowfall and cold, the pilgrims were also put in trouble for darshan. Before then, walking in the snow was not without danger. Rain from above and a ditch several feet deep below. Nature was stopping the devotees from moving forward, but their steps were not stopped by courage. Ahmed said that he met many good and very bad people during his journey. Some encouraged him, while some tried to discourage him by talking about Hindu-Muslims, but he forgot all and continued towards the goal with the idea that there is no religion greater than humanity.
