New Chief Minister of Delhi Atishi
Atishi will be the new Chief Minister of Delhi. After Arvind Kejriwal announced his resignation as chief minister, the Aap Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday announced the name of the new chief minister in the form of Atishi after several rounds of discussions. She is the third woman leader to become the Chief Minister of Delhi. The power shift in Delhi has also drawn reactions from the main opposition parties Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress. BJP said that the face has changed but the corrupt character of the party remains.
On the news of the announcement of Atishi, who was a minister in the Kejriwal government, as the new Chief Minister of Delhi, Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva said, “Arvind Kejriwal made the new CM under compulsion because even if he wanted to, he wanted to. He could not make the Chief Minister as per his wish. All the departments were given to Atishi at the behest of Manish Sisodia and now under his pressure Atishi has been made the new Chief Minister of Delhi. “What I am saying is that the face has changed but the corrupt character of AAP remains the same,” he continued.
The people of Delhi will answer: BJP
BJP National Spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari said on the choice, “The AAP government supports the person whose family tried to stop Afzal Guru’s execution. People of Delhi will never accept Naxal supporters. He further said, “Aam Aadmi Party also wants to show that it considers women as puppets, as Saurabh Bhardwaj used to say that the new CM will be a puppet CM. The people of Delhi will give a jaw-dropping response to this.
No difference in changing CM’s face: Sandeep Dixit
Congress also attacked Atishi’s choice. Congress leader Sandeep Dixit, son of former Delhi CM Sheila Dixit, said that the Aam Aadmi Party is a party of lies and loot. Kejriwal is everything in AAP. Whoever comes will rob. Changing the face of the Chief Minister will not make any difference.
