Former UP PCS officer Bhagwat Sagar Ojha has been sentenced to three years in jail by the CBI court in a corruption case. Apart from this, the court has also imposed a fine of 16,00,000 rupees on him. Gold worth over Rs 4 crore was also recovered from his bank locker during the investigation. During investigation, CBI recovered Rs 4.06 crore (about 18 kg) from 2 lockers of PNB, Govindpur branch in the name of BS Ojha. The instant DA case was registered against Ojha on 13.01.2014 alleging that during his posting in GAIL from 1.08.2009 to 21.06.2013, he disproportionately diverted from his known sources of income about Rs. 4.89 crore had accumulated wealth.

During the immediate DA investigation of the case, BS Ojha could not reveal the source of the gold jewellery. Instead, he resorted to forgery by preparing a false gift deed in the name of his father and also submitted a false valuation report in respect of gold jewellery. The report was prepared by Assessing Officer Badri Prasad Verma. He has been sentenced by Special Judge, CBI, Anti-Corruption Court, Ghaziabad.
