Rising Shivling in Devkali Temple
Savan, the most beloved month of Mahadev and his devotees, has begun. Today, Bam-Bam Bhole chants were heard in all Shiva temples in different parts of the country including Kashi Vishwanath, Ujjain Mahakal. Among the myths and popular beliefs in the country, there is only one temple where the Shivalinga grows as much as barley every day. Along with this, lakhs of liters of Jalabhishek water poured into the temple by the devotees have not been traced yet. This temple is located in Auraiya district of Uttar Pradesh.
Devkali temple is the only temple in the country named after a woman. This temple was built by King Jaichand of Kannauj. He named it after his beloved sister Devkala. Earlier there were total 52 wells in this temple. Some of these wells still survive.
