Caller Name Presentation: Incidents of cyber crime are increasing day by day. Due to this, new strategies are being introduced by the government for mobile users. Along with this, various measures are also being taken. Now the government has started a new service to identify fake spam calls. Its trial has started in two cities of the country. This service has been started in Mumbai and Chandigarh of Haryana. Therefore, in these cities, the name of the caller is not saved along with the number on the mobile phone. The government has ordered telecom companies to start this service across the country by July 15. With this, the mobile phone holder can decide which call to take and which not. Also, there will be no need for apps like True Caller. This is the subject of the 100-day agenda of the Modi 3.0 government.

At present, trials have started in limited numbers

The central government and the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) had ordered to start the service where the name appears along with the call. This service is called Caller Name Presentation (CNAP). What will be the test result of this service? The report will be given to the Department of Telecommunications. After this, the process of making this service available to everyone will be started.

The name given while filling the form will be displayed

The name that will appear during the call will be as per the name given in the application form filled while taking the SIM card. An app like Truecaller provides this service based on the name given while creating the ID. The government had planned to start a service like Truecaller. The regulator had asked companies like Reliance Jio, Vodafone-Idea and Airtel to provide this service a year ago. Now it has been finalized.

Instructions regarding international calls

A few days ago, the Central Government and the Department of Telecommunications had instructed telecom operators to block fake international calls. When the call came, it appeared to be from an Indian number. The Department of Telecommunications had been receiving complaints in this regard for several days. Cybercrime and financial fraud were being carried out through these calls.

What are spam calls?

Spam calls are calls or messages coming from unknown numbers. These include calls for debt, credit card, lottery winning or other reasons. All these calls or messages come without the permission of the user.
