Kolkata rap case and CM Mamata Banerjee.

The case of rape and murder of a trainee doctor in Kolkata has become an issue for Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Mamata, who has been uproar against the central government, is now a target herself. It is not only on the political and administrative front that Mamata is facing the biggest challenges of her tenure as chief minister. Mamata is also facing trouble on the domestic front. There is a division in the party on this whole matter. This is the first time in the history of TMC that it is divided on a single issue. Looking at all this, the question is whether TMC will break? Leaders who are raising questions will be isolated.

TMC’s number 2 leader is also upset

Another leader in the TMC and Mamata Banerjee’s nephew Abhishek Banerjee himself is said to be upset. Abhishek is not happy with the way the government handled the Kolkata case. Diamond Harbor MP Abhishek Banerjee also did not participate in Mamata’s protest march. There is talk in political circles that Abhishek is not happy with the way the Kolkata case was handled. Abhishek is said to be upset over the immediate posting of the principal of RG Kar Hospital to another hospital, the failure of the police to stop the mob from attacking the doctors who were on strike at the hospital… these two issues.

Abhishek is a big leader of TMC, there is no question of any action against him, but apart from him, the leaders who raised questions on the government were definitely actioned. Former Rajya Sabha MP Shantanu Sen has been removed from the post of spokesperson. Sitting Rajya Sabha MP Sukhendu Shekhar Ray received a notice from the Kolkata Police for spreading ‘false information’ and approached the Kolkata High Court against it.

Leaders supporting Mamata became stricter

Leaders standing with Mamata have become stricter. He has spoken of taking action against those who criticize the government. It also warned the doctors to end their protest. After the case came to light on August 9, top party officials seemed to be of the same opinion, with Abhishek demanding strict action against the culprits, saying that these rapists, who do not deserve to live in society, should either be confronted or prosecuted by should do

Some reports say that differences have also surfaced in the TMC over the transfer of former medical college principal Sandeep Ghosh to another college. After public protests, Sandeep Ghosh was appointed as the head of Calcutta National Medical College from RG Kar Medical College. After this, a mob of thousands ransacked the medical center and attacked the protesting doctors. All this happened in front of the police. Leaders close to Abhishek believe that both these incidents could have come to light.

Abhishek posted that they are forced to cope, regardless of their political affiliation. A senior TMC leader close to Abhishek Banerjee said, he believes strict action should be taken against the administrative head of the hospital and the police officials concerned. It is clear that people have not done their duty. Due to this he has separated himself from the government and administration.

A senior leader close to Mamata refused to comment on Abhishek’s stance. He said that we cannot say anything specific on such matters, only our party supremo can resolve it. Officially TMC has denied any differences. Kunal Ghosh said that the party is united under the leadership of Mamata Banerjee and General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee but many rumors are being spread. Kunal Ghosh wrote that our leader Mamata Banerjee is leading the fight to stop all this. We want our General Abhishek to be with us too. But others like Shantanu Sen and Sukhendu Shekhar Ray have not been exempted.

Sen had hinted at the nexus of corruption in the RG tax and attended a protesting doctors’ rally with his wife Kakoli. The couple are alumni of the institute. He said that many complaints have been received against the principal of this college. The Mamata government has ensured development in every medical college in the state, but she is the only principal facing so much controversy. Government should think about this. A day after making this statement, Sen was removed from the post of spokesperson.

Sukhendu Shekhar Ray took part in the midnight mass protest on 14 August and said he felt it was his duty. Ray said because I have a daughter and a young granddaughter. Two days later, he demanded custodial interrogation of both former principal Sandeep Ghosh and Kolkata Police Commissioner Vineet Goyal. In the case of the doctor’s death, it is necessary to find out who created the story of suicide. A few hours later the Kolkata police sent a notice to Ray.

Kalyan Banerjee mentioned Bangladesh

TMC leaders leading the front for Mamata include MPs Kalyan Banerjee and Arup Chakraborty. This also includes Udayan Guha. Kalyan Banerjee gave the example of Bangladesh for the demonstration in Kolkata. He said that some people think that they can topple the Mamata Banerjee government by singing songs like Bangladesh and playing the Spanish guitar, but our leader Mamata Banerjee did not allow the police to fire.

Minister Udayan Guha in the Mamata government said that people who are pointing fingers at CM Mamata Banerjee and breaking her fingers need to be identified. He further said that I have never seen women wearing jeans and short hair agitating against illegal liquor or gambling. These rural women do… These women agitate to be seen on television and written about in English newspapers. TMC MP Arup Chakraborty warned the protesters that there would be public outrage if doctors instead of treating patients and go out with their boyfriends or go home under the guise of protest and the patients die. If hospitals are under siege they should not come to us for rescue.

When asked about these statements, Kunal Ghosh said that it was not the party’s but the leaders’ own idea. Kunal Ghosh said that leaders should show more restraint. Opposition incites and leaders tempt but they should refrain from such statements.
