Even before Kejriwal came out, the ED approached the High Court, challenging his bail

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s bail has been challenged by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the Delhi High Court. ED approached the High Court before Kejriwal was released from jail and the High Court accepted the ED’s demand for an urgent hearing. The Delhi High Court will hear the ED plea today. ASG SV Raju appearing in Delhi High Court on behalf of ED. A vacation bench of Justice Sudhir Kumar Jain and Justice Ravinder Dudeja will hear the case. Abhishek Manu Singhvi will argue on behalf of Arvind Kejriwal.

Rouse Avenue Court granted regular bail to Kejriwal yesterday i.e. Thursday in money laundering case related to Delhi liquor scam. Kejriwal was likely to come out of Tihar today. But before this, ED approached the High Court against Kejriwal’s bail.

The ED had on March 21 arrested Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal in a money laundering case related to the liquor scam. Earlier he was summoned 9 times but did not appear before the investigating agency. After this he was arrested. He was produced in court on March 22. From here, the ED took 11 days of custodial remand and after questioning, sent him to Tihar Jail on April 1.
