After the Lok Sabha elections, the Central Election Commission has started preparations for the assembly elections. The Commission has issued a notification to update the voter list for the assembly elections of the states of Maharashtra, Haryana, Jharkhand and Jammu and Kashmir. Instructions have been given to update the voter list by going door to door. The problems of the polling booth will be resolved.
Elections in September, October
Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2019 was held on 21 October 2019. Voting took place on all 288 seats in the state. The result was declared on 24 October 2019. After that result, the grand alliance of Bharatiya Janata Party and Shiv Sena got a clear majority. But differences arose between BJP and Shiv Sena over the post of Chief Minister. After this, President’s rule was imposed in the state due to no party being able to form the government. President’s rule continued for about two months. Then on November 23, 2019, Devendra Fadnavis took oath as Chief Minister and Ajit Pawar as Deputy Chief Minister. But this government could not prove majority. Then on November 28, 2019, Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress formed the Maha Vikas Aghadi and the era of Uddhav Thackeray began in the state.
