An elderly couple has died due to electrocution in Uttar Pradesh’s Jalaun. An elderly couple was electrocuted while repairing a ceiling fan, killing them both. The incident came to light when the nephew reached his uncle and aunt’s house and found both people lying dead on the ground. A large number of people gathered in the village as soon as the incident was reported. At the same time, as soon as the incident was reported, the police reached the spot, took the bodies of the elderly couple into their custody and sent them for post-mortem.
The tragic incident of electrocution of an elderly couple took place in Kunwarpura village under Konch police station. An elderly couple living in this village, Lalta Verma (65 years) along with his wife Shanti Devi (60 years) lived in a separate house from their three sons Shyam Kumar, Deshraj and Ramkumar. On Saturday morning, Lalta Verma was helping to repair a broken fan in the house when it was suddenly electrocuted, which caught Lalta in her grip.

When his wife Shanti saw her husband stuck to the fan, she tried to save him but in the process caught him, due to which she too got electrocuted along with her husband and both died on the spot. The incident came to light when Lalta’s nephew reached home to call him, there he found his uncle and aunt dead on the ground, lost consciousness and started making noises, hearing which people around rushed to inform the deceased’s son Ramkumar and the police about the accident.

On receiving the information, Ramkumar, son of the deceased and Arun Kumar, the in-charge inspector of Conch police station, reached the spot with a police team, after which the police investigated the matter and took possession of the body. Ramkumar, the son of the deceased, says that the parents lived in a separate house, when he was repairing a fan at around 7.30 am when he was suddenly electrocuted.
The postmortem report will reveal the cause of death
In this case, Konch Circle Area Officer Umesh Kumar Pandey said that as soon as he got the information about the accident, he immediately sent Inspector Arun Kumar Rai, in-charge of Konch Police Station to the spot along with the police team. The body has been sent for post-mortem, the cause of death will be known only after the post-mortem report.
