Junior doctors protesting demanding justice in the Kolkata rape and murder case ended their strike on Friday. After ending the strike, a team of 10 junior doctors reached the flood-affected area of ​​Panskura. Doctors will provide medical assistance to the flood victims there. On Saturday, doctors will join the hospital’s emergency service.

Junior doctors marched from Arogya Bhavan to CGO complex on Friday. In late March, the agitating junior doctors announced the withdrawal of their strike. Ordinary people also joined the procession. On the other hand, at the same time, a march was started in another part of the city in protest against the RG tax case. Common people also participated in the relay torch procession from Highland Park to Shyambajar.

Meanwhile, the junior doctors threatened that if the incident is repeated in any hospital in West Bengal by September 27, we will go back on strike.

After the rape-murder incident of a woman doctor of RG on August 9, the junior doctors announced a strike. The strike was not limited to Kolkata hospitals. Doctors from various medical colleges of the state and various hospitals of the country also participated in this movement.

In the last one and a half months, people from different areas protested. Procession, deployment. In such a situation, the junior doctors started a dharna in front of Arogya Bhavan from 10th September. It ended on Friday after several meetings with the state government.

According to the announcement, the junior doctors took out a rally on Friday afternoon. After ending the march in front of the CGO complex, he said the protest was being called off. He will start working in the emergency services from Saturday.

The procession left from Highland Park

On Friday, people from different walks of life gathered at Highland Park as junior doctors started a procession in front of Arogya Bhavan. Junior doctors, East Bengal, Mohun Bagan, Mohammedan supporters, alumni of various colleges and universities, artists, IT workers and people from civil society participated in the gathering.

A total of three people have been arrested so far in connection with the rape and murder of a lady doctor in Kolkata. Sanjay Roy, the first accused citizen volunteer, was arrested. The CBI has arrested former RG car principal Sandeep Ghosh and former OC Abhijit Mandal on charges of tampering and concealment of evidence. The court has ordered his CBI remand till September 25.
