The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) on Monday submitted a 2,000-page scientific survey report of the disputed canteen complex in the Madhya Pradesh High Court. The report has also been shared with the central and state governments. During the survey which lasted for more than 3 months, the ASI has found 37 idols of gods and goddesses during excavations. On the other hand, the Hindu party has filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking an immediate hearing of the case.
ASI has submitted the survey report of Dhar Bhojshala in the Division Bench of Indore High Court. Various types of information have been placed before the court in the survey report, which will be heard next week on July 22. ASI conducted a survey in canteens for 98 days. Now all eyes are on the survey report done to know the truth about Bhojshala. ASI has excavated more than 1700 antiquities during its expeditions.
The High Court had given a decision on the survey in March
Earlier on March 11, the Indore bench of the High Court had ordered a scientific survey to be conducted within a radius of 500 meters in the canteen. The survey was conducted from March 22 to June 27 for a total of 98 days. During the survey photography and videography were also done along with excavation.
ASIA also used Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and Global Positioning System (GPS) for archaeological survey. The ASI was earlier to present the survey report in the High Court on July 4. However, the report could not be prepared in time, so the High Court granted the ASI an additional time of 10 days.
A broken idol of Vagdevi found in the survey, special
Following the deadline given by the court, the ASI was supposed to submit the report by July 14, the deadline of which was last Sunday. As tomorrow is Sunday, he was produced in court on Monday.
In the survey report submitted by the ASI team in the court, several types of remains have been found and detailed information has also been given about them. During the survey, the broken idol of Vagdevi here is special which is said to be the same as the one taken from Bhojshala to London.
Apart from this, idols of Lord Shri Krishna, Jatadhari Bholnath, Brahma, Hanuman, Shiva, Vagdevi, Ganesh, Mother Parvati, Bhairavanath etc. have been found in the survey. Apart from this, the report also mentions how old the pillars are in the canteen and which stones were used in its construction.
On the other hand, the Hindu party has demanded an early hearing of the Bhojshala survey case from the Supreme Court, to which CJI Justice DY Chandrachud said that we will look into it. The Hindu party has sought an early hearing on the petition filed against the Madhya Pradesh High Court’s ban on the hearing in the matter.
