Shubman Gill Controversy T20 World Cup 2024: The Indian team led by captain Rohit Sharma has reached the Super-8 in the T20 World Cup. India’s last series match against Canada on Saturday has been washed out due to rain. Now after the series matches, the Rohit brigade will leave for the West Indies for the next round. However, there is a talk that batsman Shubman Gill, who is included in the list of reserve players, will return home. A big reason is being told behind Gill’s return to India. Shubman went to America with Team India but was not seen supporting Rohit Sharma and the rest of the players. Other reserve players Rinku Singh, Avesh Khan and Khalil Ahmed were seen boosting the team’s morale during the India-Pakistan match in New York on June 9.

What is the reason

According to reports, Shubhman Gill will now return to India. The real reason is said to be indiscipline. Because Shubhman Gill was not seen with the team in America. He was spending time away from the team. Perhaps he was busy in some other business. There are reports of a rift between Gill and Rohit Sharma. It is being discussed that Gill has unfollowed Rohit on Instagram.

BCCI’s clarification is already decided

Meanwhile, a BCCI official told PTI that Shubhman and Avesh wanted to stay in the US till the group league. They had decided about it. Therefore, they will be released from the team after the match against Ireland. Now Super 8 India has to play its first match against Afghanistan on June 20. India will play the second match on 22 and the third match on 24.

Shubhnam Gill’s strong performance in ODI World Cup

Shubhnam Gill performed well in the last ODI World Cup. But this time he did not get a place in the main team of the T20 World Cup. He has gone to America with the Indian team as a reserve player. However, the match was not played.

24-year-old Shubman Gill has played 25 Tests, 44 ODIs and 14 T20 matches for India so far in his international cricket career. He has scored 1492 runs in Test matches, 2271 runs in ODIs and 335 runs in T20Is.
