Actually I had no expectations from Devara. Because I was sure that this film will have all the things that are seen in big budget South films. Lots of violence, the story being divided into a sequel to Part 1 and Part 2, the dark tone seen in the films and yes, the double role. My guess turned out to be absolutely correct, Deora had everything I believed. But I still loved the film, but Jr. NTR’s Deora entertains us a lot. The movie is almost 3 hours long and you will not get bored watching it till the end. This movie reminded me of Baahubali. Even though the story of both is completely different. But the joy that came after watching SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali is the same. Devara also has some irritants, but these can be ignored. Now let’s talk about this movie in detail.
story
The story begins at the police head quarters in Mumbai. All the police forces in the country are looking for Yeti. A police officer who reaches the Red Sea in search of the Yeti cannot find the Yeti. But Shamappa (Prakash Raj) tells him Devara’s story. Years ago, an army of warriors who came to our country by sea was formed, who could face every danger easily, these warriors had neither religion nor caste, they only knew the country and the need for protection when the British left. finished The generation of these warriors was divided into 4 villages. Often, to feed their villages, the warriors who once guarded the country began looting smuggled goods. Among these warriors were four village chiefs, Deora (Jr. NTR), Bhaira (Saif Ali Khan), Rayappa and Kunjara. However, most of the decisions for all these were taken by the brothers-in-law. That is, ‘If the sister-in-law asked for something, understand that she said it. But what happens when Bhaira and the rest of the village headmen turn against Deora, how does the story move forward? Do the police find the Yeti? To know the answer to these questions, you have to go to the theater and watch Junior NTR and Saif Ali Khan’s Deora.

Devara can be divided into two parts, but the first part does not seem incomplete. By the way, after watching Salaar, Indian 2 and Kalkino part one, it seems that part 1 of these films only set the mood for part 2 and finally, after building the film to a high point, the film remains incomplete, Deora at all. . Part 1 of the entire film tells a good story and then the film ends on a high point where ‘Why did Katappa kill Baahubali?’ ‘Why did Vara kill Devara?’ Troubled by this question, we walk out of the theater.
If a story is told to us with passion, we definitely connect with that story. We also adopted Harry Potter who flies on a broomstick. Now we also get to connect with Vara (Devra’s son who looks like his father) riding a shark in ‘Devra’ and the credit for this connection goes to director Koratala Siva who narrates the story of ‘Devra’ so passionately.
Directing and writing
Along with the direction of Devara, the story of this film is also written by Koratala Shiva. After writing a long story, he divided it into two parts and this is the reason why while watching Devara part 1, we don’t feel that we have been cheated. The story is not very different, just like the big budget South movies like Baahubali, Salaar, Dasara, Kalki, this film also sees a battle between good and evil. Good wins, but along with this victory, the hero also faces many difficulties. In this way, the story is not new. But this story has been presented in a new color and manner. The film certainly has action, but there is no gruesome violence in Devara that makes one want to close one’s eyes. Junior NTR and Saif Ali Khan’s acting enhanced the hard work done by Koratala Shiva on this film.
Acting
Jr. NTR dominates the entire film. The cleanliness with which he has acted in this film is nothing less than a visual treat. Tarak is seen in two characters in Deora. On one hand, in the character of Devara, he has shown an ideal personality endowed with qualities like patience, courage and calmness, on the other hand, in the character of Vara, through his body language, he also easily shows how weak he is. is the son of Devara. Saif Ali Khan who played Bhaira with Jr. NTR has also done justice to his role. But we have seen the wonders of his acting before. After playing Ravana in Adipurush and Udayabhan in Tanaji, more was expected from him this time, as he spoiled our habit. This is the reason why after watching this character, one feels the feeling of ‘Dil Mange More’ somewhere. Janhvi Kapoor has no special role in this film.
how is the movie
After watching the violent action shown in Animal, Dasara, Salaar, I had given up hope that I would get quality action scenes in South films, which I could enjoy sitting in the theater while eating popcorn. But I got to see that action in Jr. NTR’s film. The film also has a lot of fights and gore, but at the same time, care has been taken to ensure that nothing untoward is seen while watching the film. For example, the film shows a wound on the neck after a sword attack, but for no reason, rivers of blood are not seen flowing from the wound. The most important thing is that there is a good reason behind this action, not that heroes or villains start killing each other with weapons in hand.
Be it the Red Sea or the villages around this sea or the shot in the middle of the sea, R. Rathnavelu’s cinematography is amazing and the VFX team working on Devara also needs to be commended here. Much of the action filmed under the sea was incomplete without VFX. But this team sister in law The underwater action is done in such a way that it reminds us of Hollywood. Apart from this, the film has several scenes like the scene of retrieving the big smuggled crates from under the sea, Deora targets the back of the thief despite his warning, on which the VFX work is amazing. has been done.
However, there are some things in this film too, which are often seen in South films and cannot be overlooked. While praising the hero, the makers here often show women as weak. Exceptions are found here like SS Rajamouli, who dares to show three female characters like Devasena, Avantika and Sivagami in his film Baahubali, who can give any man a fight when the time comes. I expected the same from Jr. NTR’s film, but dialogues like ‘war time has come, women and children must go away’ are disappointing.
When the goons tease Devara’s daughter, her mother says that there is no one born on this mountain who can touch Devara’s daughter, but the next moment she tells her daughter that if something like this happens, before she touches us, We will kill ourselves by swallowing. Zere, this weak form of Devara’s daughter and sister who takes care of the entire village cannot digest.
To see or not to see
Baaki Deora is an amazing film. I got double what I expected. People who tell a boring story till the interval in the name of part one of the film should learn a lot from Koratala Siva’s film. An extra star from me for giving the action without the disgustingly violent scenes and a standing ovation for the climax. I don’t think ‘Why did Katappa kill Baahubali?’ There might be a better ending than the question, but Jr. NTR’s film ‘Deora’ has shown that he can show you an even bigger shocker than this, part 2. Forced to wait eagerly.
