Jam on Noida Expressway
Cleaning workers of Uttar Pradesh’s Noida Authority have been protesting in Mayawati Park since this morning. A large number of cleaners gathered in front of the Prerna site in support of their demands, leading to a long traffic jam. Due to which the traffic system in the city was disrupted. Prolonged traffic jams on major roads in Noida due to protests by sanitation workers.
There was a 6 km long jam on the Noida Expressway. Hundreds of vehicles were stuck in the jam for hours. The traffic police was slow to solve the problem of traffic jams. Vehicles were moving continuously on the route from Greater Noida to Delhi. Jam was also seen on the route coming from Kalindi Kunj to Noida. Vehicles heading towards DND, Sector 18 and Chilla border were stuck in jam.
Sanitation workers of Noida Authority are demanding an end to contract system in Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Authority. They demand that this be made permanent. The employees say they will go on an indefinite strike if their demands are not met. However, in view of the performance of the employees, an urgent meeting of the authorities has been called.
