Farmers are earning lakhs of rupees by cultivating colossia.

These days, the farmers of Hardoi district of Uttar Pradesh are earning big from the cultivation of Arabica (Guian). The biggest thing is that the tuber i.e. Ghuia found inside the root of this vegetable fetches a good price. Along with this, farmers are also earning a lot by selling its leaves. This vegetable is proving to be a boon for the farmers as it gives good profit at low cost. According to experts, this vegetable is very nutritious. It is rich in vitamins and minerals.

Farmer Anil Dixit, a resident of Bahloli, says that Ghuia can be cultivated twice a year. Cultivation of Ghuiya also makes barren land fertile. Most importantly, Ghuia can be cultivated in all types of climates. Ghuia crops best in hot and humid climates. Sandy loam soil is considered very good for its cultivation. Ghuia crop which gives high profit at low cost especially in rainy season enriches the farmers.

Ghee is rich in nutrients

The tuber found in its root is rich in nutrients. Ghuian grown in sandy loam soil is a nutritious vegetable rich in vitamins A, C, E, B-6, folate, iron, potassium, magnesium, zinc, copper, phosphorus and manganese. Due to all these qualities, this vegetable is in high demand in the market. The price of ghee in the market ranges from Rs 60 per kg to Rs 100 per kg. At the same time, Ghuiyan is referred to as Arabic in many places.

In most vegetables in India, farmers earn from either fruits or vegetables, but in Ghuiyan farmers earn from both fruits and vegetables. Farmers are getting huge profits from Ghuia leaves. Cultivation of one bigha of Ghuiya costs 10 thousand to 15 thousand rupees. Also this crop is ready in 100 days. If we talk about the yield of one bigha then quintal crop is produced.

Farmers are earning lakhs of rupees

If seen, an investment of 10 thousand rupees gives farmers a profit of one lakh. Delicious dishes like patra, patod and rikwaj are made from ghui leaves. Hardoi District Magistrate Mangala Prasad Singh said that the Agriculture and Horticulture Department is encouraging and sensitizing farmers about vegetable cultivation in the district. Subsidy assistance is also provided to the farmers by the government.

Ghuiya is being sold in the surrounding district

Most of the farmers have changed their lives by taking advantage of this. Vegetables from the district are also being sold in the surrounding districts, out of which Colosseum cultivation is proving to be a profitable business for the farmers. Most of the farmers are proud of the district by doing more profitable farming at less cost. This is a good sign for the development of farmers.
