The pace of Delhi slowed down due to heavy rains
While the capital Delhi was sunny in the morning, dark clouds settled in the evening, followed by heavy rains. Delhi and many surrounding areas received moderate to heavy rains, after which the weather pattern completely changed. Heavy rains drenched the entire capital late in the evening. Due to the heavy rains, people returning home from office are facing a lot of trouble, as on one hand their road is blocked due to heavy rains and on the other hand the speed of vehicles has also slowed down due to heavy traffic jam.
Due to heavy rain, many places were flooded due to which traffic jam was seen for several kilometers. The Meteorological Department had earlier predicted cloudy weather and light rain or drizzle during the day which proved correct in the evening.
Yellow Rain Warning
The Met department has also issued a yellow rain alert for Delhi on Wednesday. According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, the skies will remain cloudy and light rain is likely to occur in Delhi on Wednesday. Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 24.4 degrees Celsius and it was sunny in the morning. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the maximum temperature is likely to be around 34 degrees Celsius.
Monsoon is nearing its end
On the other hand, the eastern states of the country are receiving heavy rains as the monsoon is moving towards its end. While IMD has predicted light to moderate rains for Delhi. While Noida and surrounding areas adjacent to Delhi had bright sunshine during the day, by evening the sky was covered in dark clouds. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, the national capital’s Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 163 at 9 am, which falls in the moderate range. An AQI between zero and 50 is considered good, 51 to 100 satisfactory, 101 to 200 moderate, 201 to 300 poor, 301 to 400 very poor, and 401 to 500 severe.
